Members of the San Marino Historical Society share a common interest in the collection, preservation and teaching of the area's history. The Michael White Adobe, which the Society has restored and now maintains, houses the Society's offices and archives, including historic documents, tapes, books, photos, oral histories and microfilms. The members continue to add, catalogue and file objects and information that have been collected or given to the Society. While research is focused on San Marino, it also covers subjects in Southern California and, indeed, the rest of the state. The Society publishes a quarterly newsletter, "The Grapevine". Three or four lectures and programs are offered to the public each year, free of charge. The Society is also actively involved in presenting historical docent tours and lectures throughout San Marino, upon request.
