San Marino Garden Club

The San Marino Garden Club is a service organization designed to co-ordinate interest in city beautification as well as to study all aspects of the fine art of gardening. The Club, organized in 1935, has donated trees to Lacy Park and the Huntington Drive median strip, developed and planted roses at Memorial Island at Lorain and San Gabriel, contributed towards the planting and landscaping of City Hall, the Public Library, and the Old Mill, donated city entrance markers, restored the Rose Arbor at Lacy Park, and provided docents for tours at the Old Mill. Flower arranging classes are a popular activitiy with the arrangements gracing our Library each week. Nine monthly meetings are held from October to June along with outings to interesting Southland Gardens. Each December a holiday tea is celebrated.
