City Club Greets Four at Meeting

The San Marino City Club presented four new members at the dinner meeting held on March 16.

"These four individuals join the twenty additional new members that have joined so far this year," President Tom Santley noted. "This record-breaking influx of new members is most gratifying and is recognition of the value the community places in being a member of the Club."

Inducted were Shody Chow, Frederic Cohen, Shaun Stiles, and Dean Watanabe, D.V.M.

Shody Chow was born in Shanghai and attended schools in Hong Kong. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from Hong Kong University and an MBA from the University of Western Ontario, Canada.

Shody has over 30 years experience in international trade and supply management and serves as a consultant in these fields. Shody and his wife Marian lived in San Marino from 1986 to 1992 and moved back in 2002. Shody is active in a number of community organizations including the San Marino Rotary Club.

Fred Cohen, a native of New York, moved to California to attend Harvey Mudd College where he received his undergraduate degree in mathematics. He then obtained his law degree from USC and did a clerkship with the California Court of Appeals. He has spent the last twenty years with Horvitz & Levy, where he is a partner. He and his wife Antoinette Adams have three children in San Marino schools. Fred is a member of a number of civic and professional organizations but most enjoys skiing with his family.

Shaun Stiles was born in Berkeley and received his degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He has been in commercial real estate for 13 years and is Senior Vice President at Colliers Seely International. Shaun and his wife Celeste recently had their first child. For fun Shaun likes to ski, jog, and ride bikes.

Dr. Dean Watanabe is a native of Los Angeles and attended the University of Redlands, graduating with distinction. He attended Cal State LA on a research grant and obtained his degree in veterinary medicine from UC Davis. He has been a veterinarian for 20 years and is the owner of the San Marino Veterinary Clinic on Huntington Drive. Dean and his wife Kathy have twin children that attend Valentine School. Dean has been active in youth sports serving as a coach and manager in the San Marino Little League and he has been a Webelos Scout troop leader.
