First Church of Christ, Scientist, San Marino

The purpose of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, San Marino is to reinstate primitive Christianity. This brand of Christianity includes healing by means of prayer as well as abiding by other counter-intuitive teachings of Jesus, such as loving one's enemies. Christian Science was discovered by Mary Baker Eddy who was a life-long student of the Bible. She found spiritual laws of Life in the Bible and proved that anyone can invoke them to heal disease and establish a sense of harmony and dominion. She recorded her findings in a book entitled, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." It contains the following insight into Jesus' concept of church: "Jesus established his church and maintained his mission on a spiritual foundation of Christ-healing. He taught his followers that his religion had a divine Principle, which would cast out error and heal both the sick and sinning. He claimed no intelligence, action, nor life separate from God. Despite the persecution this brought upon him, he used his divine power to save men both bodily and spiritually." We are dedicated to maintaining in San Marino the church based on divine Love that Jesus built. It is not a building, nor a legal entity, nor a human organization. It is a spirit of love for one another and for the one God who is the Father of all. We welcome all who want to join in the endeavor.

Meeting Times: 10:00 am on Sundays and 7:30 pm on Wednesdays.
